In May 2023, the Redan Belvedere team embarked on a heartwarming journey of community service, extending a helping hand to the St. Joseph's House for Boys. This initiative not only exemplifies Redan's commitment to giving back but also highlights the importance of fostering meaningful connections within our community.

At St. Joseph's House for Boys, our team eagerly rolled up their sleeves and dived into various projects alongside the boys and the dedicated team at St. Joseph's. The day was filled with teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose as we worked together to make a positive impact.

A Legacy of Empowerment

Founded in 1936, St. Joseph's House for Boys serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for boys aged 12-18. With a focus on providing basic life skills and equipping the boys with the tools they need to thrive independently, St. Joseph's plays a vital role in shaping the future of these young individuals.

Assisting St. Joseph's Projects

St. Joseph's projects we assisted with included

- Cleaning their facilities for the 300-broiler project.

- Squeezing approximately 8 pockets of lemons for their lemon juice project.

- Shelling 200 kg of maize cobs.

- Shelling a 50 kg pack of sugar beans.

These activities not only provided valuable assistance to St. Joseph's but also offered our team members an opportunity to connect with the boys and the staff on a personal level, fostering bonds that go beyond the scope of a typical volunteer endeavour.

As Memory Simbi, the manager for Redan Liberation City, aptly expressed, "We had a blast dancing and chatting with the boys and hope to build a strong relationship with them." Our visit to St. Joseph's was not just about lending a helping hand; it was about forging connections, building bridges, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
